RIVERFRONT MIXED USE DEVELOPMENT
Project Type: Urban Architecture
Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
Professional Services: Architecture, Engineering and Planning
Following the success of the Ash Skyline Garage Mixed-Use Project and Riverfront Fort Wayne, Hoch created a new riverfront mixed-use development that will include retail space, a parking garage and an entertainment venue.
The design ties into Fort Wayne's active riverfront landscape, with a wide promenade bringing area residents downtown to enjoy the open space. A precast parking garage would stretch nearly an entire city block from Calhoun to Harrison providing much needed parking for the hundreds of events each year at both Headwaters Park, Riverfront and Landing developments.
Because the site is mixed-use, the building would feature nearly 20,000 s.f. of shell space for first floor commercial facing the river and nearby Harrison Street. Located directly above the shell would be additional second floor office space and a rooftop garden would round out the parking structure. The final touch would be a 15,000 s.f. entertainment venue tying the open greenspace, riverfront and active downtown together.
